Privacy policy
This policy explains how Voltpass processes information for Shopify merchants. The merchant controls its data; midorry processes it to provide Voltpass.
Information we handle
We process Shopify shop and authentication information and battery passport data: model declarations, unit serials, access requests. Optional unit order and customer references, state-of-health readings and access-request contact details are also stored when supplied, as are safety-only contact emails, recall notification records and consumer recall responses.
How we use it
We use these records to publish public declarations, resolve identifiers, generate labels, record status changes and receive access requests. We do not sell customer data or use it for unrelated advertising. Public passports exclude customer references, order references and restricted technical data.
Service providers
Shopify provides shop, product and authentication services. Railway provides hosting and database infrastructure. Resend processes recipient and message content to send access-request receipts, operator notifications and decisions when email delivery is enabled.
Retention and requests
Records support operator traceability. Access logs store a salted hash of the IP address, not the raw address. Customer data requests include matching access requests and units linked by order ID, customer email or Shopify customer ID. Customer redaction anonymises requester details, revokes links, clears justification and linked unit customer/order references, and removes matching stored disclosures and email jobs. Free-text customer references that cannot be recognized as an email or Shopify customer ID require operator review: open the unit detail page, associate the customer’s order, email or Shopify customer ID before processing the request, or clear the private references there. Shop redaction deletes all battery records. Contact us about privacy and continuity before uninstalling.
Security and international processing
Voltpass authenticates merchant requests, scopes records by shop and signs passport codes. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where providers operate. Public declarations are intentionally accessible to anyone with the passport URL.
